How Do I Become a Member?
The membership process at Tomball Bible is relatively simple, but does require some time commitment. Our intention is to ensure that membership means something, and that we all consider our commitment to the church and to each other seriously. Therefore, the following requirements for membership are in place:
Place Your Trust in Jesus
The first step to becoming a member of the Church is to place your faith in Jesus. This should go without saying, but we cannot overlook this most important element. Church membership is an important step in the life of a Christian, but does require that you are a Christian. For more information, please go to the Becoming a Believer section of our website (hyperlink).
Discovering Church Membership Class
If you are new to Tomball Bible, this class is a great opportunity to meet some of our leaders and learn about the Church and its ministries. The class is offered during the Bible Class Hour, just following our 9:30 worship service. The course generally takes 3 weeks to complete. The goal of the class is to provide our guests the necessary information to make an informed decision regarding Church Membership.
Conversation with an Elder
The final step of the process is to meet with one of our Elders. This informal conversation provides prospective members the opportunity to connect with our leadership, as well as share their story of how God has moved in their lives. This is not an interrogation; rather, it is a time to connect our leaders with new people in our body, and to encourage each other by sharing the stories of how God has saved us.
We do not require certain forms of baptism to become a member, but we do believe that the Bible clearly teaches baptism by immersion. Therefore, we strongly encourage all Christians to be baptized as a part of their walk in the faith.
