Missions Ministry
Tomball Bible Church Missions Team

Tomball Bible Church is a family with a huge heart for missions and desire to see our God be worshiped in all the nations of the earth.
The TBC Missions Team is committed to bringing the life-changing Word of Christ to the un-reached people of the world.

Definition of Missions
Any approved missionary outside our local congregation with the focus of fulfilling the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, making disciples and relating to the whole need of mankind, spiritually, and physically. This involves the sending of authorized people beyond the immediate influence of our congregation to evangelize, make disciples, train leaders, plant churches, and further the work of Christ.

Scriptural Basis for an Active Missions Ministry
Commanded by Christ through the Great Commandment to “Love your neighbor as yourself”. (Matt. 22:36-40)

Charged by Christ through the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20)

Modeled by Christ who sent his disciples to local and distant communities, to common and foreign cultures and languages. (Acts 1:8)

Equipped by Christ so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God (Eph. 4:11-13)

Compassion from Christ for the lost in the world. (Matt 9:36-38)

Assurance from God who wants all men to be saved. (Jn 3:16-17, I Tim 2:3-4)

Strategic Impact Philosophy

Our goal is to “own” each of our missionaries’ ministries as if it were our own. We “go along with” rather than just “send” each of our missionaries. Our focus is on providing Biblically-based, loving and excellent care of our missionaries. This involves a team contact-member for each missionary, weekly prayer, meeting furlough needs, meeting financial needs, and on the field visits and assistance. We also identify and focus special efforts on the TBC mission fields which are a match for our church’s unique DNA. With each of these, we enhance our ministry to include special projects which help our missionaries in those fields make a deeper and long lasting impact. We endeavor to actively plant churches that will plant churches, with our focus being on ministry that is “reproducible” by the nationals. We see the goal of missions is to see God be worshipped in all the nations of the earth. Therefore, we strategically focus on ministry to unreached people groups and have “adopted” the people of Chechnya to specifically target with prayer and efforts to break through their long-time resistance to Christianity. We endeavor to educate and inspire our body to greater participation in the spread of the gospel to the nations. We encourage each member to serve as a sender, prayer partner, short term or mid-term trip member, or as a long term career missionary.

Join Us

The Missions Team invites you to join us in this exciting and fulfilling ministry. Meetings are on the first Sunday of each month at 12:30 pm in the TBC Parlor. Prayer Meetings are each Tuesday night at 7 pm at the home of John and Janie Peltier. Team members support and care for our TBC missionaries while on the field and home on furlough. They provide two Missions Emphasis Weekends during the spring and fall of each year. They arrange for short term mission trips for our body and seek to educate and activate our body to involvement in missions. God has blessed the Missions Team with great enjoyment in service, fellowship and prayer for each other and our dear TBC missionaries!
