About Church Membership
We believe that Church Membership is an important step in the life of a Believer. Becoming a member of Tomball Bible is a serious commitment to serve alongside one another, as we work to advance the Gospel. Joining Tomball Bible is a step of willful submission to spiritual authority and committing to support the ministries of the Church.
Why Become a Member
Joining a church is a significant decision that many people simply avoid. We believe that avoiding this step can be detrimental to the Christian’s spiritual development. There are a few key reasons to commit together with other Christians in Church Membership.
Coming under Spiritual authority
Throughout the New Testament, we find that God has placed Pastors and Elders to lead the local gatherings of Christians (Hebrews 13:17). It is for our good that we submit to spiritual leadership. Coming under authority means giving someone else permission to teach, encourage, challenge, and correct you at times. It is an important element of the Christian’s life and is necessary to truly grow in the faith.
Affirming the Ministry of Tomball Bible Church
When someone joins the Church, it is an encouraging sign to those who serve the body. It affirms the Spirit’s movement in our ministry. This is an important way to encourage your fellow servants in Christ.
Make a Commitment to Your Christian Family
The decision to join the Church is a significant commitment to serve and support the ministries and people of Tomball Bible Church. The act of making a commitment to which we can be held accountable is an important step in living a life of faithfulness in service to Jesus.
